There is a good non-wax dog that doesn’t die. There are sleeping puppies shown, but these are either genuine wax or killed off-screen prior to the movie’s events.
Has far as I recall there is no abuse between people in romantic relationships, but there are abusive parents, and it seems that Bo is abusive to his brother Vincent.
People are saying ‘no’ but I say ‘Yes’ because the definition of gaslighting is manipulating, and Bo ( main antagonist) was manipulative and abusive towards Vincent (Second antagonist)
The film opens with a child being physically restrained in a chair with yelling occurring. A shot of the child’s wrists bloodied by the restraints is shown.
Yes, there is a scene where a mass site of animal death is discovered. Most of these animals appear to be deer or rams/sheep in various states of decomposition.
near the beginning there's a scene of one of the girls falling down a hill, hands landing in a pit of roadkill. it's not too gruesome to me personally but her hands get rlly bloodied.
While no one is technically alive, we watch as the wax figures melt, seeing their decomposing bodies and bones as they melt. We also see Wade melt too, but him being alive or not at this point is uncertain.
A head gets beat in a bit, lots of blood but no brains or skull shown. Old, wax-encased heads are shot and explode and a someone has a metal rod go through their head (in the front out the back)
There is a decent amount of gore, but not Saw levels of gore. They did go with a more realistic approach to the gore. I usually have to close my eyes tree times throughout the movie.
All of the characters are around 18 years old. There is a scene where 2 characters are trying to get intimate in a tent, but the characters seem to be of legal age.
Cop's are shown at the very end of the movie, but they didn't not save the day. In my opinion they're mostly only there to give the audience the last bit of lore for the movie.
while there are scars on bo's wrists that could be interpreted as self harm if you dont watch the first 3 minutes (child abuse scene!) but it isnt actually self harm. the scars may remind people of such but it isnt dw
It is not outwardly said but Vincent may be mentally ill, he is called a freak and does not speak or interact with people. He is violent and kills people.
There are ableist themes and dialogue, but not autism specific. One of the villains seems to be mute, and is implied to be disabled but it's not clear if they are supposed to be autistic
The girls dress one of the boys in what I assume is their clothes as a joke. He's wearing blue bell bottom jeans, a yellow jacket, and sunglasses with rinstones.
There is a homeless man at the beginning of the movie, he's only in one scene. He asks for change, but Nick kicks his change cup, and tells him to get a job.
this entire movie is very disturbing:
[SPOILER ALERTS !!] the killer has a bad home life, people ARE the wax statues, a dude gets his achilles heel cut (this made me cringe so bad), a girl gets a steel pipe through her head.. that isn't as bad as it sounds but still isn't easy to watch by any means
