Splinter is forgiven but he’s not abusive so much as overprotective. Superfly doesn’t seem to realize that his “father” experimenting on him is animal abuse and speaks lovingly of him throughout.
Yes. In a mid credits-scene, the turtles are stalked with security cameras as Dr Cynthia calls the shredder for a mercenary job. In addition, the turtles also stalk the bad guys.
The main monster at the end of the film has horses mutated onto the end of his legs, but they are later freed with an anti mutagen gun and come out of it unharmed.
Superfly is transformed into a creature that is made up of a bunch of different animals. Not too upsetting IMO but the character design is a little grotesque
Yes, the turtles are captured by Dr Cynthia and placed in a torture machine. They are electrocuted several times and harvested for their blood, or as they like to refer to it, "Milked."
Yes, at the beginning of the film, Superfly's creator, or what he likes to refer to as "His dad" ends up passing away after SWAT raid his home lab. However, it is unsure if he is truly dead or not as shown in the mid credits.
All the vomit in the movie is cartoony (looks similar to the ooze) but might still be triggering for emetophobes
The first scene is at the high school. April tells a story about how she threw up while reading the school announcements. The vomit starts when you hear “Feel the rain on your skin”. You’ll know it’s coming. Graphic audio and April comically gets launched around the room. They loop the scene a few times but it’s obvious when it’s over. 1-2 minutes
SPOILERS the second scene is close to the end when April hijacks the newsroom. During her speech she quickly vomits, less intense but very unexpected.
The turtles are “milked” for their green blood in one scene. You only see them strapped into a machine, but when they escape you can see needles sticking out where they were strapped in. Not highlighted and only visible in the background
To the other person in this thread, this trigger is for autistic people who hate being misrepresented in media. A lot of neurotypicals portray us in negative ways, which is what this trigger is for. It is NOT a trigger for autism representation, it is a trigger for autism MISrepresentation. :)
Yes, most notably during the reactor explosion, when the bad guy throws several cars, and there are lots of explosions during the film. The loudest one is the beginning of the film with Dr Stockmans house.
There is a rumor that Splinter would've been in an MLM relationship with Scumbug but execs forced the team to make Scumbug a woman because of escalating homophobia from western consumers IRL (this rumor came about because a poster, up for over a month and only recently deleted, referred to the character with he/him pronouns). The creator has denied this but we can't fully verify if the studio straightwashed Splinter and Scumbug or not.
a person who happens to be black dies first, but he isn’t “the” black guy. there are many black characters in this film (or voiced by black actors). so he was not the only black character by any means
There is hate speech involved with the mutants. When splinter and his sons went to explore the real world, they were shunned and called several insults as they retreated.
the one "yes" and the comment below are insane to me lol. literally only two of the mutants are black-coded, superfly and genghis frog, both of which are played by black actors, with the latter only having about two lines. there is nothing remotely resembling "animated minstrel" like the other comment claims.
As the turtles and citizens work to defeat the bad guy, the citizens crash their cars into the big monster in order to trap him. Several cars are also shown crashing in a high speed chase.
The turtles’ green blood is briefly shown being extracted and a few characters are shown with red cuts on their faces after getting attacked (the turtles near the end and one of the henchmen at the start).
Several TCRI agents use anti mutagen guns to neutralize Dr Stockman at the beginning of the film, at the middle of the film Splinter has to dodge gunfire by them.
