A trans girl is kicked out of the house and told not to return in a flashback in episode 7. Her age at the time is unclear, but she seems to be a teenager.
Yes! In S1E5 when the game is to gain points by killing dangerous animals, a group of characters are seen running away and you can see a giant snake slithering up the building behind them
S1e6 a character is tied to a chair and gagged/blindfolded, and stuck there while the building is set on fire. He is rescued. S2e14 the participants of this game are restrained in their seats by a seatbelt. They struggle to get free when they lose the game and are about to die
s1e6: *attempted* rape scene, 30:00 - 33:30. unfortunately, after this it keeps cutting back to the room where she's restrained and this part includes plot-important details, but he's not trying to attack her. if you want to skip all of this, skip to 35:50 and I've included a summary below.
in the next episode, he gets up in her face and intimidates her, but it's brief. skip the first 2 minutes.
besides the actual sexual assault:
there's a scene in s1e2 (27:10 - 32:05) that isn't treated like rape but definitely looks like it, and might be triggering. Saori takes Chota's virginity while he lies there frozen in shock and looks distressed. in the scene Chota also flashes back to seeing his mother have sex with his church leader.
another scene in episode 2, 7:00 - 7:20 where Saori flashes back to having sex with her boss in order to get promoted. also not treated as rape, but questionably consensual (she flashes back to stepping out of the shower and noticing he's disappeared and that ends at 8:15)
EPISODE 6 SPOILER PART . . . having successfully stolen the playing cards, Chishiya prepares to leave the beach. Kuina expresses remorse for their betrayal of Arisu and he lectures her about how sympathy won't help you survive.
then he notices the laser grid that's appeared across all the doors leading out of the Beach. the power in the area suddenly cuts out, as lasers from the sky spring to life around the perimeter of the building, and everyone inside turns to look at the screens, which have lit up. the building has become a game arena. everyone in the building is in this one and it's a 10 of Hearts game, which is also coincidentally the only card they don't have yet. Usagi escapes from Niragi while he's distracted.
Arisu is tied to a chair with tape over his eyes and mouth in episode 6. in episode 7, while still tied up, smoke from a fire fills the room and he starts to choke but is rescued by Usagi. skip 14:30 - 15:20 and 31:00 - 32:30.
Episode 5, there’s a very short clip of one of the games “human elevator” and several people are shown falling from very high up so i’m sure they do break their bones but it’s off screen
There are several times characters are struck in a way that could lead to teeth being damaged, but we see no evidence of this, and see that these characters still have perfectly healthy teeth afterwards.
One character is tied to a chair and left alone. A woman is sexually assaulted (her genital areas are not touched). There are also multiple instances of characters being beaten. The whole premise can be considered a form of torture given that the characters are forced to undergo seriously traumatic situations. However, there is no traditional torture.
Characters in one episode are shown falling in an elevator. No bodies are shown. One character is set on fire and falls off a roof, but SPOILER.... he does not die
a lot of characters are killed by lasers which makes them bleed from the eyes, and maybe sometimes shot through the eye, but theres no intentional eye mutilation. downvote me if i'm wrong
Depends on what you think is excessive but the only scenes that made me mildly uncomfortable were the one with sulphuric acid and the one where a character has their hand smashed by a door.
in episode 2 it shows shibuki having sex with her boss. on the table next to them there is what i would assume to be a males wedding ring. shibuki and her boss were not married or engaged to each other so i'm assuming that shibukis boss was married to another woman and took off his wedding ring while having sex with shibuki.
in episode 1 when they run away from the police and hide in the restroom stall there's an extended joke about how one of them farted and trying to figure out who it was
episode 6, 19:05 - 19:15, Aguni spits in Hatter's face
ep 7, 31:30 - 22:30, Arisu manages to get the tape off his mouth and spits a lot on the carpet
s1e6 12:20 - 13:05 not exactly a "hospital" but she's doing an autopsy on the brains of some dead bodies and it's graphic and there are a lot of bloody tools lying around
ep 6 27:15 - 27:40 someone removes a bullet from a dead body
in episode 8, in the 3rd scene with Kuina fighting sword guy, she flashes back to visiting her dying mother in the hospital
Trans character but no heavy emphasis on dysphoria because they present as their real/ identified gender throughout. Only warning is for flashbacks to the past
In later episodes we see flashbacks to a trans woman’s childhood. It’s implied that she transitioned to alleviate her gender dysphoria. I’m not sure this could be considered body dysmorphia as she doesn’t discuss at length feeling out of tune with her body at any point. Gender expression is more emphasized as an area of struggle.
There isnt an Ed HOWEVER Once the Beach ark starts the show becomes incredibly triggering for those with eating disorders because the women are all extremely skinny and the camera keeps making shots of their stomachs
if you're strongly triggered by suicide DO NOT watch this show (spoilers below)
in flashbacks in episode 4 Usagi's father disappears and it's implied that he might have committed suicide, after tabloids accused him of faking his mountain climbing record, but it's not shown
in episode 5 Hatter talks about accidentally driving one of his subordinates to suicide (about 45:00 - 46:45) but it's not shown
episode 8 is REALLY bad. there's a lot of depression and suicidal ideation:
an unnamed character tries to make one of the militants shoot him, but he doesn't. then Aguni tries to incite the crowd to shoot him, but they don't. Aguni later uses himself as a human shield to stop Nagiri and dies.
Momoka (Asahi's sister) commits suicide by laser (about 22:00).
in a flashback (23:00 - 23:45) Asahi stabs herself in the chest.
someone tries to shoot himself (31:00 - 32:00) but the gun is unloaded.
Momoka talks about her suicidal ideation around 38:30 - 39:30
s1e5 from about 19:50 - 20:25 there's a scene in a club with strobe lights
s1 episode 7 Kuina/swordboy fight with strobe lights, 18:40 - 22:10. they're fighting and then they bump into the strobe lights and turn them on. that segment also has Kuina's backstory flashback in it
episode 7, 27:00 - 29:30. right after swordboy's backstory flashback. Kuina busts out some sick karate moves
episode 7, 34:00 - 37:40. right after Usagi smashes through the window to free Arisu from his chair. more Kuina backstory in this scene and then she punches swordboy out cold.
The characters take part in games to survive, but don't know that the games are recorded by cameras, which are operated by people that watch and bet on those games
Final episode of 2nd season, a person claims another character is an android but does so while looking at the camera so it might look like they are claiming the viewer is an android
No, although people with disabilities are entirely excluded from the series. There are a few temporarily disabled characters (due to injury) and it is suggested that they are basically a dead weight (although a few characters try to help regardless).
in season 1 episode 7, Kuina and swordguy fight and the fight is intercut with flashbacks to Kuina's childhood (not misgendering but deadnaming and transphobic abuse)
19:15 - 21:45 she gets the shit kicked out of her by her karate sensei dad during a lesson (before she came out). then her dad finds her using makeup, screams at her, hits her, throws things around, deadnames her, disowns her and kicks her out of the house
35:00 - 36:20 many years later she visits her mom in the hospital who is probably dying and it's the first time her mom has seen her since she transitioned. her mom is surprised and remarks that she's a "totally different person" but is overjoyed and says she looks beautiful. she deadnames her but only because she doesn't know her new name
There is transphobic hate speech in a flashback in one episode - a transwoman is caught by her father trying on makeup and he hits her and yells that they are not for boys. However, it is shown in a negative light (as in, that this hate speech is wrong). No racism, hate speech towards faiths etc.
There is a character who was raised in a cult and struggles with memories of their mothers treatment and spiritual indoctrination, there is a brief flashback to this.
s1e2 7:05 - 7:20 Saori flashes back to when she entered the game, she was having sex with her boss (she flashes back to stepping out of the shower and noticing he's gone and that ends at 8:15)
s1e2 27:10 - 32:05, Saori takes Chota's virginity while he lies there frozen in shock and looks distressed. it's not treated like sexual assault but IRL it definitely would be. in the same scene Chota flashes back to seeing his mother have sex with his church leader.
s1e5 19:50 - 20:10 there's shots of ppl having sex in the club
there's sexual assault in episode 6
there might be others I missed and there's a lot of kissing and mentions of sex
Yes, but it is not shown, only implied. Several characters in a later episode are locked in a room that is slowly filling with water. However, they do not drown. The water stops before getting to their faces and they escape
