Is there misophonia?

Misophonia, or "selective sound sensitivity syndrome", is a neurological disorder often associated with autism and ADHD, in which hearing mouth noises or repetitive sounds like eating, chewing gum, smacking lips, tapping, and other noises when eating, triggers anger, disgust, or even physical pain. Many movies and TV shows have moments like this, with some that are so extreme it becomes unwatchable for viewers who suffer from this, as I do. I have wished for this to be a category on this wonderful site for years.

There is multiple scenes featuring gory and meaty audio including stomach gurgling. The noises dont really sound like mouth sounds that you would hear from asmr or noisy eaters so I do not think they would be especially triggering to watchers with Misophonia.

Main character stops off at a diner and eats very loudly, was triggering for me personally. Scene is only brief and happens after the diner's red glowing text is shown

And how! The main indicator of Charlie's presence is her tic of clicking her tongue. It is repetitive and agonizingly grating.

This prompt is worded awfully. The show has fairly regular eating sounds but they’re not obnoxious IMO. In addition, Ruby says she has misophonia but is later seen eating around people without reacting. So maybe her trigger was something else?

S3 An autistic character frequently gets sensory overload and the sounds are amplified/distorted during these scenes to convey this. In S3E4 especially there’s a lot of high pitched high frequency feedback sounds. In S3E1 it’s also a baby crying.

Yes. Worst occurrence is in S1E8 when you can hear a character eating someone’s eyeballs. I haven’t been able to bring myself to get a time stamp for this, will perhaps try later. Edit: it’s 0:25:25 until 0:25:41.

A couple eating scenes that aren’t bad. The main one happens when Alice is rubbing seasoning onto a raw steak. Happens once at the beginning and once at the end.

One of the characters, Quinni, I think has misophonia. In episode 2 about 30 minutes in there is a restaurant scene which focuses in on different sounds. It may be triggering if you also have misophonia so I would turn volume down and use subtitles for this scene <3

There are quite a few scenes of characters eating, breathing heavily, whistling and squishy audio gore. As someone with misophonia it is sometimes noticable, but not the worst.
