Several dogs are featured in passing, but no harm comes to them. One dog, late in the film, is rescued from the ruins of a building and appears to be adopted by a character.

Rape is very much attempted, with assault and clothes ripping, but thwarted at the last minute. Very obvious it's coming in scenes throughout the movie, as I came here looking for the answer to this question
