I would say yes according to today's standards. The couple go to a nightclub called The Safari Club and in addition to parrots being therw, which is ok, the is a roaring lion in a very small cage, there for the enjoyment of patrons, but probably suffering from fear and anxiety from being in cramped quarters and seeing all the people there.
