The opening scene is of a deer hunt resulting in the deer's death killed by Percy. Later in the movie, Percy shoots a black boar in the jungle and take it with them for rations. A rabbit is killed off screen near the end of the movie, by Jack.

When they are traveling down the Amazon on a raft. One of the men, presumably sick with some tropical disease, throws up blood, it looks black. Mostly looks like he's spitting out black goo. It didn't really bother me and I'm pretty emetophobic.
