There's a marriage between someone with an adult body and someone with a child's body, but he previously had an adult body and was magically de-aged as a prank.
This feels thematically the similar. The Deku Princess gets stuck in a temple because of the boss monster there and needs to be rescued. Her friend is set to be executed by her father. Once she's rescued by Link, she assaults her father physically in response when a single statement would fix the problem.
There is a character who believes himself to be the reincarnation of another species (fairy) and identifies as still being one. It's made clear that he doesn't identify his current body as being correct for him. He has taken measures to adapt as best he can (using balloons to fly).
No, but the child (and child-like) main characters are put in dangerous situations, a youthful princess is kidnapped, and a man is turned into a child so he can't get married, if that's something that you don't wanna think about or see. Pamela, a girl in Ikana, doesn't deal with abuse, but her life is endangered.
There are two houses filled with enemies called "Skulltulas" which are giant spiders with skulls on their abdomens. They crawl on the walls and ceiling and can be hiding in pots, wall cracks, etc. You can kill the spiders and collect their emblems for a reward. There are also Skulltulas in some of the dungeons.
No, but if you let the time run out and fail to save Termina, you'll see a cutscene with fire engulfing the world and Link shielding his face as it speeds in his direction.
When you put on the masks, there's a cutscene of link like.. ripping his face off. Pretty sure there's also a dude who got turned into a skulltula, he looks all freaky and mangled
In the transformation scenes (when Link puts on the Deku, Goron, Zora, or Fierce Deity mask), Link's head stretches a little bit, but that's it (also tip: you can skip them by pressing A!)
There's a brief, optional scene of a sapient monkey being tortured by dunking in boiling water in the Deku Palace. Don't talk to him after getting the song to open that area's dungeon and you won't see it.
Darmani, a Goron hero, dies by falling to his death in the backstory of the game due to a strong gust of wind, which is caused by a much larger Goron's breath. The latter Goron also falls down the same pit when you play a song that makes Gorons sleep. After completing the nearby dungeon it's shown that he survived the fall, however.
Odolwa, the first boss, kidnaps the Deku Princess.
Pirates also steal babies. Also, a girl and some cows can be abducted by aliens. That is not a joke.
Mikau, a father, is mortally wounded after trying to rescue his children. He dies in front of the player.
Darmani isn't a parent, but he is close to another Gororn's son. Guess what happens to Darmani.
There's a couple of very mild jumpscares. [Spoiler] The biggest one is in Ikana Valley, inside the house that's playing music and is surrounded by Gibdos (mummy-like enemies). When you go into the house and down the stairs, a guy jumps out of a closet when you approach it.
[Mild spoiler] someone is revealed to be used as a mere "puppet" and they fall limp when they are no longer being controlled.
Also several characters get transformed against their will (Link at the start of game, then there's also a guy who was turned into a mummy-like creature)
There are several ghosts, both friendly and unfriendly, that the player will encounter, but Ikana in particular is home to all sorts of ghosts and undead.
the baby Goron in Snowhead Temple cries very loudly. Mute the audio when you get to that area until you learn the Goron's Lullaby song if it bothers you.
There are no examples of real-world discrimination but Link is capable of transforming into a Deku Scrub, Goron, or Zora, and many characters will refuse to do business with him if he speaks to them as anything other than a Hylian.
The ending is fairly happy, but...
1) Link doesn't reunite with Navi
2) The poor Deku Butler... poor Deku Butler's SON! The two of them don't get a happy ending at all...
While there is no -actual- nuclear explosion, the game over" destruction of Termina by the falling moon, should the alotted in-game time run out, is highly reminiscent of one
