No dogs die, but one does run off and its fate is left ambiguous. It's definitely not framed in a way where you'd think the dog is in any real danger though.
At the clinic, against her will, the protagonist gets medication injected to make her docile. This also implies that other patients often get drugged so they remain "easier to handle" by the medical staff.
*Spoiler* Near the end, depending on the player's choices, there's a toxic gas being released in the apartment. Susan will sacrifice herself and gives the only gasmask to Mitzi, knowing that she'll be able to come back after her "death."
there is no violence but there is a pretty confronting scene where the protagonist's husband starts an argument while drunk, yelling and belittling her.
A woman who's a victim of Doctor X is tied up and screams in fear and pain while the killer takes pleasure in her pained screams. A disturbing scene to say the least.
A whole chapter is dedicated to the protagonist being held in a mental institution. Corruption, psychological and physical abuse are all shown during this chapter.
Most scenes might feel claustrophobic despite not always being in a typical, closed off space. The entire game is mainly in black/white visuals and gives off a dark, oppressive feeling.
The protagonist dies from an overdose in the beginning. Later, another woman takes her own life by jumping off a building. You cannot save her.
One part of the plot revolves around a mysterious person who recruits people into his cult and drives them/encourages them to commit suicide.
There are some scenes where people call the protagonist, who is mentally ill, crazy. There's an optional scene where the police refuse to help her because they see she was hospitalized for her mental health.
Also, I think there's a scene where another character calls a disabled one a vegetable or something like that, but it's very heat of the moment.
There are multiple endings, but the most common one (if you play normally and aren't a jerk) is fairly uplifting, and there's a rarer ending for a perfect run that's even happier.
