Report
Oregon, a small town near the sea, around 1870. Henry, a grieving man who aspires to preach as a way to overcome his unfortunate past, reunites with eccentric pioneer Samuel Alabaster, who has hired him to officiate at his marriage to the precious Penelope. What Henry ignores is that both must embark on a dangerous journey through the inhospitable wilderness to meet her.

There are many times throughout the movie that made me question whether Butterscotch, the mini horse, or other horses would be hurt or killed. However, no horses were hurt or killed. Guns are shot beside them but never at them. Rest assured, the mini and other horses are never harmed.

A chicken is killed for food. It shows before and after, along with holding the chicken down and the axe. It cuts away just before the chop, then goes to Samuel and Parson eating the cooked chicken by the fire.

There is a scene shortly after the chicken one that shows Rufus cutting the head off an, apparently, already dead fish.

The act is not shown onscreen but the man is shown from a distance hanging afterwards.
