The GF Eden gives characters the ability to eat enemies, although a humorous "censored" screen pops up when the ability is used and the actual eating isn't shown.
Though it is framed as a necessary things, the students of the Gardens, who can be as young as 13, are being trained to be mercenaries. This severely impacts the mental health of multiple characters in the main cast.
Some enemies look like existing animals or have animalistic features. Though the game can technically be cleared without winning any of the random encounters, some fixed encounters involve animal-like enemies.
Early in the game, a friendly stray dog hangs around your party for a short time. One of the characters swings his arm above the dog, telling it to "scram!". Apart from that, several enemies appear to be animals, though they are aggressive so it can be said your party acts in self-defense.
One early boss is a four-legged robot that looks like a spider. Another enemy, called Grand Mantis, vaguely looks like a spider, though it is closer to a mantis or lobster.
Early in the game, the party attempts to kidnap a political figure. Later on, a story shown to the players in the form of flashbacks has the party rescue a young girl after she was kidnapped.
Prison guards in police-like uniforms are consistently depicted as abusers and torturers, toward the other staff as well as toward the prisoners. Unnamed guards are typically just called "Mean Guy".
