While Inej is in captivity, she is subjected to graphic threats of torture, but [spoilers] she is rescued before any serious damage can be done. The torture is more from fear and malnutrition.
The main character has severe touch aversion due to trauma and has several anxiety attacks throughout the book as a result of being touched. Some are described in great detail.
A character attempts to escape after being kidnapped and goes through the very narrow vents. The description is very claustrophobic-inducing and describes the feeling of being trapped in the vents very vividly.
