Depending on your definition of death" in this game then the answer varies from yes on various accounts to no.

Two playable characters are dogs: Duck Hunt which is a trio of character that includes a bloodhound and Isabelle who is an anthropomorphized shit-zu

If you consider dying to be koed then it's probable that Duck Hunt or Isabelle dies in any given round of smash bros

In the trailer for World of Light all characters from all universes connected to smash bros are turned into trophies or turned into a spirit, being turned into a trophy, this includes duck hunt and isabelle, in smash bros being turned into a trophy is the closest thing to death the inhabitants of that universe experience.

The player can make their character intentionally fall of platforms for fun, similar to suicide, but no characters attempt suicide in game unless you make the character you’re controlling die.

Duck Hunt and Wolf both make realistic dog whimpering sounds when they are KOed. Wolf's is somewhat comical given his character, the same cannot be said for Duck Hunt.

While certain playable characters are relatives and CAN be pit against each other, it should be noted that fights in this game are very cartoonish and not at all graphic. And in fact in the case of Chrom and Lucina, they're said to spar all the time in their home game.

In the opening for World of Light, almost every character is vaporized by Galeem-including children, such as Pit, Ness, Lucas, the Pokemon Trainer, the Inklings, etc. They are then used to mass-produce Puppet Fighters.

Fortunately, they can all be revived.

Ghost dog character Polterpup from Luigi’s Mansion appears as a spirit. Various Boos, ghost like enemies from Mario, appear in the Luigi’s Mansion stage and other parts of the game. Boos are very stylized ghosts and are more cutesy, pretty much just being a circle with arms and a face. Polterpup is also clearly meant to be cute.

However, Yoshi’s grab attack involves him trapping his opponents in his mouth with his cheeks puffed up and he might be holding his mouth with his hands, looking like he’s about to be sick. When Yoshi spits out the fighter, nothing else comes out.
A Pokémon called Squirtle, spits out water to attack. There are no retching sounds when either of them spit.

Yes, but fighters will always respawn.
Yoshi can swallow fighters and trap them inside an egg. The trapped fighters usually break out of the egg after a few seconds. He can also chew opponents and spit them out. Kirby and King Dedede can also suck up opponents in their mouth and spit them out as an attack.
A few stages have giant creatures that can eat fighters and KO them.

Toddler and young children characters appear as spirits and in the backgrounds of various stages, but I don’t think any actual babies are in the game (I may be wrong about this, I haven’t unlocked all the spirits. Please correct me if I’m wrong). There’s also puppies and kittens who appear in the Nintendogs’ Living Room stage.
