No but when Rosie gets her period and Emily suggests the pill Simon thinks she means as a contraceptive, not knowing there are other reasons someone may use it. He makes a rather poor joke about her in a sexual context.

In a flashback to 2009, a mother and her child is afraid that they will "catch" 3-year-old Rosie's chromosomal disorder and they move away from her, although chromosomal disorders cannot be catched.

After the family receives Rosie's diagnosis, Emily talks about how she was right about what was wrong with Rosie and gets very upset about not being believed.

The police talk to Simon about someone reporting kidnapping as someone misinterpreted Emily and Simon carrying Rosie into their home as a kidnapping, but no actually kidnapping occurs.

Rosie has a graphic meltdown during this special and slams her head into objects, and bites Simon all whilst struggling, can be difficult to watch.

At the very beginning (and very suddenly!) the main character retches and (I think) spits something up in front of a couple sitting at a picnic table. No warning.

This is all one scene:
You can see Rosie banging her head a lot on different surfaces and this gets to the point of Simon holding and restricting her in his arms kind of like a hard bear hug while sitting down. Eventually they move into the lounge room sitting on the couch in the same position. Rosie takes an opening in Simons arms and she picks up what looks like a book and uses that to start hitting her head again. Simon cry’s saying “hurt me please hurt me not yourself” the scene cuts off. They talk about this later but there is no more after that.
No skin breaks and there isn’t bruising from what happens. I’ll also add that when they are still in her room she breaks free a few times and uses different surfaces/objects
