Although this is loosely based on a real person, I think it's important to note that Billy Mulligan's story has been used for the inspiration of many horror movies and harmful tropes in media associated with D.I.D. and this is once again another re-hash that just simply increases fear around D.I.D. We don't hear the millions of stories of other folk with D.I.D, just ones based off of the same harmful person / system. And by continuing to focus on retelling his story, it misrepresents the D.I.D. community as a whole, because people assume this is a common narrative for all D.I.D systems (as that's all they're have exposure to), not just one system's story being used over and over for inspiration.
