Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond.
This movie contains 31 potentially triggering events.
I highly doubt it. The dinosaurs are all fake/cgi and I don't think there are any pets on the island. Some dinosaurs are killed (vicious predator dinosaur on a killing spree, and there's a scene where they comfort a sad one who's severely injured.) During the night confrontation with soldiers in formation, an offscreen soldier sends a blast at one of the raptors who was contemplating/docile for its final few moments which felt rather tragic to me as someone who loves animals and dinosaurs.
By a parent-adjacent figure (their estranged aunt they're supposed to be visiting / be with.) The two main children are on their own the majority of the film. Their aunt can be interpreted as abandoning them as she leaves them with her assistant to work. The kids sneak away, and then the usual Jurassic franchise chaos ensues and they fend for themselves. The aunt does ardently try to reunite and rescue them as a major part of the film, but she wouldn't need to if she hadn't abandoned them in the first place.
No, but there's a boy who cries because he's discovered that his parents are about to get a divorce, and his teen brother isn't exactly nice to him - until a certain point in the movie.
Multiple and various animals are killed or eaten. It does show a pig getting killed by a raptor, marine dinosaur eating a shark, and a goat gets killed off-screen. No cats, dogs, or horses die.
There's a two-headed snake in a terrarium in the abandoned lab. No striking or biting; all that happens is that a person and the snake look at each other through the glass.
Something flies around buzzing near a character's head, then gets snatched in the air and squeezed to death by someone else. We can't see the critter; there's just the sound and the characters' reactions.
There are attempts to tranquilize/drug dinosaurs (usually as an alternative / before using weapons). This is common in the franchise / series of films. Results vary.
I don't know if it counts, but we see a dying dinosaur with huge, fresh gashes all over its body. I don't remember any other cuts/cutting. There's no shaving.
Hmm... A raptor bites down full force on someone's arm (hand in mouth, teeth reaching to the elbow or so), so it's safe to assume that the person loses the arm, but we don't see it come off, nor a stump left behind. Anyway, the person doesn't get away from the raptor, so is basically eaten right after.
Obviously “excessive gore” is different for everyone. The thing to keep in mind is this is dinosaurs hunting and eating, and some people get bit in half. Not super bloody though (imo)
These are the jumpscare times (Taken from where is the jumpscare)
00:18:35 – A pig suddenly runs past the screen.
01:14:38 – After apparently leaving, the Indominus rex suddenly crashes through the garage where Claire and Owen are hiding.
01:37:04 – A man places his bloodied hand on the back window, startling Claire.
01:37:28 – A Velociraptor breaks through the window while Claire is driving.
01:43:23 – A Velociraptor appears beside Hoskins.
It'd be weird if the majority of the visitors of the park didn't develop PTSD or at least some trauma-related symptoms after they went through what they went through.
There are moving truck/car/motorcycle headlights during at least one action scene, and parts of the movie are very fast paced with lots of sudden movements.
No, but on a racial slur note, the film does use the nickname "pachys" for one of the dinosaur types (Pachycephalosaurus), and it sounds just like a derogatory ethnic slur used toward Pakistani people (at least in the UK.) It may for an uncomfortable watch, especially early on in the film, after some pachycephalosauruses have escaped their sector, a character utters the line: “The pachys are out of containment.” With context, it's clear it's about dinosaurs, but FYI.
I don't think so but it can be interpreted that the fat employee around 37 minutes can't keep up with the running and he isn't eaten as a result, but does die shortly after (he is hiding at the time, nothing size-related. He's one of the first to die. The first is a person of color, directly before that.)
A main female character is portrayed as a sort of helpless “damsel in distress” for a good portion of the movie. The same character also wears a revealing top for the second half and high heels throughout.
Around the 43 minute mark, a boy cries because of his parents' divorce. His older brother says "Are you really crying" or something along the lines and tells him to grow up
A sister show called “Camp Cretaceous” reveals that a group of children are homeless and stranded on the island where the movie takes place, but nobody in this movie is homeless.
Multiple different types of firearms are shown and/or utilized throughout the movie for dinosaur purposes, but there is no human on human gun violence.
