Evvy, a 12 year old stone mage, is captured, stripped nude, tied into a position that leaves her vulva accessible, and then caned across her feet. Two adult men are in the room as this happens, one doing the caning, and then an adult woman comes along and uses a rod to hit Evvy's feet instead.

There's a lot of gore. It's a book called Battle Magic though and it is very clear in its synopsis that a war occurs, so I don't think it can be considered excessive.

Evvy, a 12 year old stone mage, is tortured for the location of her friends and fellow protagonists. She is stripped naked and tied down to be tortured. She magically seals the knowledge away from her own access, and she is caned on her feet, and then a rod is used on them. They threaten to kill her cats so she uses her magic to play dead. They kill the cats anyways.

I say no, but a girl is stripped nude and tortured. Presumably the logic is to take away all weapons etc she had, but she was also put in a compromising position that left her genitals in an accessible location.

The cave snakes are human skulls and vertebrae made of metal. There are also creatures that are depicted as creations by bored gods, that go against nature.
We are also given depictions of piles of corpses, and brief mentions of serious wounds, including ones that require battlefield amputation.

Offscreen it is mentioned that Rosethorn spends the night in the tent of the ex slave/prince Parahan, and in her next point of view segment, she mentions that she found him to exactly the kind of lover she was looking for. Attentive, kind, and funny. That whomever he marries will be a lucky woman.

Early chapter, the protagonists are visiting the imperial gardens when they notice a rose with mold on its roots. They beg the emperor to not kill the rose and to not punish the gardeners for it, and they do save that rose- only to wake up to find that the Emperor has set the entire garden ablaze, complete with the team of gardeners tied in the middle of it and left to burn.

One of the protagonists is a stone mage. She drops rocks on people who want to kill them. At one point a mountain helps her open the ground and swallow an entire regiment. Another of the protagonists is a plant mage who makes the wooden beads on several people's necklaces grow back into full trees- around the people wearing the necklaces.

Sort of? The eldest of the three protagonists has a fling with a man, and her student remarks that yes, if he were attracted to men, he would also think the man was quite desirable. The teacher also swooned lightly when she met the man, thinking he was quite pleasant on the eyes.

A character is chloroformed as she returns from a walk. In a much later chapter they are also magically spelled to make them sleep.
In a less unpleasant sense but still potentially triggering, one of the characters is also given a pain killer and sleep causing combination in order to treat one of the wounds he sustains. They do force it on him more than once as it is easier to help someone who is asleep than it is to help someone who is screaming and magically making every bit of plant material in an absurd radius fight you.

A number of times. We are early on introduced to Parahan who is a slave and is always cuffed at both ankles, both wrists, and his neck. Sometimes he is leashed. The main characters restrain several people using magic vines, though most are then killed in short order. Evvy is captured, stripped nude, and then tied down. Near the end of the book, all of the protagonist's side is captured, and a young boy king is put in a similar leash and chain situation as Parahan was at the beginning.

Evvy the stone mage is kept unconscious while she is being healed from torture and she is cared for by non-humans who do not understand the need, especially in those with vulvas, to not sit in their own excrement longer than absolutely required. It is also implied that Parahan intentionally soils himself to pass himself as a homeless man as he flees from slavery.

It is explicitly addressed that while a woman does have an affair with a man, despite having a female lover at home, she is in an open relationship with said female lover and has active permission to take others to her bed. It does still make her adoptive son a little uncomfortable.

For a time after his escape from slavery, Parahan is unhomed. He cannot return home or his uncle will sell him into slavery again, so he sells his services as a warrior to the religious leader nearby. Technically he does not live there at the end of the book, but will remain there until he and his sister are prepared to retake his country from his uncle.

A twelve year old is expected to put on lipstick for the emperor, despite her rejecting it as she is still a child. She is also stripped nude while tortured and her age is brought up, although they don't act out anything more actively sexual than her positioning, and that grown men are looking at her during that. There is no evidence they enjoy her body but it's still. Iffy.
