I wouldn't call this abandonment, as she leaves home as part of a tradition, but she is very young to be alone

[SPOILERS]
Halfway through the film, Jiji the cat loses his ability to talk to Kiki and falls in love with a lady cat, frequently leaving Kiki to spend more time with his 'girlfriend'. Though not animal abandonment in the traditional sense, it could be jarring and upsetting to people who don't expect it.
At the end of the film, Jiji returns to Kiki and meows lovingly. It is shown in the credits that he and the lady cat are happy together and have kittens.

They're kind and loving. However, they're perfectly OK with their underage daughter (age 13) spending a year away from them and fending for herself. It might be disturbing to watch.

There is a scene where a canary is being stressed out by a kid, said canary also lives in a wrong type of cage; the first one it's in is too small and the second one it's put into is round which as you may know is very stressful for them.

A major plot point revolves around "burnout" and anxiety. Hard to say if its a "disorder" but Kiki's life is thrown into disarray. It's the major hurdle of the movie.

Right after a young witch flies away from Kiki down into a town, there is a thunder storm (which lasts several minutes) with bright flashes and flickers of lightning across the screen. While Kiki is delivering a pot pie, there is another thunder and lightning storm, though there are not as many lightning flashes as the previously mentioned storm.

The movie goes a little into the credits, there is what I would call a "mid-credits scene" where the credits briefly stop for one last scene, and then continue.
