In the first season, we see the agents torturing a few suspects. It mostly consists in tying them up and slapping them in the face so there is nothing gruesome.
However some more subtle jokes in the dialogue are clear references to the well-known torture techniques used in the Algerian War at the time.
In the second season, André has to pass a test in a "truth detector" that gives him an electric shock every time that he says something true.
