Veteran buttoned-down LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh is partnered with unhinged cop Martin Riggs, who -- distraught after his wife's death -- has a death wish and takes unnecessary risks with criminals at every turn. The odd couple embark on their first homicide investigation as partners, involving a young woman known to Murtaugh with ties to a drug and prostitution ring.

A woman jumps from a building to her death at the beginning of the movie. There is also a couple attempts to commit by gun one time a character puts a gun in his mouth but cannot pull the trigger the same character later again attempts with a gun under the chin after being challenged if he's serious by his partner. He slowly starts to pull the trigger but his partner sticks his thumb in front of the hammer at the last second and let's out a noise as his thumb is pinched implying if he hadn't of put his thumb there the gun would of fired completing the act.

Suicide by fall as well as multiple attempts by gun but none of the gun attempts lead to the gun being fired. Also the main bad guy lights a lighter and says the name is one of his henchmen who rolls up his sleeve and intentionally holds his arm over the lighter flame for several seconds. This act is shown close up.

A suspect is shot and fall into a pull with a clear cover on it. The 2 police who shot the suspect dive in after him and pull at the liner trying to save the suspect but he's clearly shown dead mouth and eyes open. Hard to tell if he was dead from the gun shots before entering the water or drown after the gun shots but the end results still give a drowning appearance.
