Lassie gets hit by a car, causing her to slide across the road, hitting the sidewalk. Then, she is trapped in clinic kennels when a fire is started at the veterinary office, along with several other dogs and cats. All the animals are rescued and safe, but Lassie limps away and gets lost. Poor Lassie is shown limping for a long time as she recovers. She also gets yelled at by delivery drivers and landlords, startled by wax museum cannon audio and wax figures, and she gets chased by Public Health, animal control, and police, who think she is different rabid collie named Tawney. She is cornered and forced to jump off a bridge into a dirt truck, too. Don’t let all this scare you off though: the Lassie dog actors always create compelling film and television worth your time.
