The causes and consequences of America's opioid epidemic unfold in this drama following its perpetrators, victims and an investigator seeking the truth.
Almost everyone has a dog in this show so I was very worried, but luckily none of them are harmed in any way. They are actually treated great and we even get to see a good boy playing fetch.
About 32 minutes in after it says Norwalk, Connecticut 1987 there is a scene where Richard Sackler is in a lab looking at the effects of the drug on mice. I’m not exactly sure what is shown because I closed my eyes but the scientist was saying that the mouse was feeling the effects. The scene ends a few seconds after she says and then there was human testing. I don’t remember of those are her exact words but something like that.
Between minute 29 and 30 an older male characters touches the younger female character innappropriately, makes her touch him, and implies that she's been asking for it. Visually, you don't see much as the scene is interspersed with other shots, but it's obvious what's happening and there are flashes of their hands. The language/audio however is clear and sexually aggressive.
Man shown bent over toilet naked while withdrawing during episode 5 I believe, I’m not sure if they showed visual of anything but I don’t believe there was audio
I’m not sure if something happens later and this show’s tone changes entirely, but the show is a dramatization of the very real opioid crisis. It’s pretty firmly set in reality. Sometimes the camera gets a little fuzzy to represent the effects of the drugs but there’s nothing too surreal and it’s always pretty clear what is and isn’t really happening… Not sure why so many “yes” answers.
A significantly older man makes unwanted physical and verbal advances at a college graduate. It's implied that she's not much older than his daughter. Nothing happens in terms of a relationship, but it's unnerving and the age gap is at least 20 years.
