After a successful robbery leaves famed thief Lupin III and his partner Jigen with nothing but a large amount of fake money, the so called "Goat Bills", he decides to track down the counterfeiter responsible - and steal any other treasures he may find in the Castle of Cagliostro, including the 'damsel in distress' he finds imprisoned there.
Not technically, but an 18 year old girl is being forced to marry somebody who is much older than her, and Lupin calls the guy a "lolita lover." So, not pedophilia, but an uncomfortable age-gap between the damsel and villain.
I would say: yes. There is a "damsel" character, and she is held hostage, her life is threatened several times, she's drugged so she can't object to a marriage, etc.
There IS a damsel character who is being forced to marry someone. However, the villain doesn't speak of her body, and she is always fully dressed. So was a woman objectified? Yes. Sexually? No.
I don't remember anything especially startling me, however there are many gunshots and fireworks and explosions so be careful. So, there are loud sounds, but the sound mixing didn't bother anyone in my group. Mileage may vary.
Lupin and friends have a "stake out" for a lot of the movie, so yes. As well, the villain comes into the damsel's room while she's asleep and touches her hand. This is very creepy.
Not at length. However. Clarissa went to a convent for a long period of her life, and there is a Christian-style wedding scene with a cross and everything.
Several lakes, but they are animated lakes. However if you have problems with water, there are many underwater scenes etc. There is also a flooding scene.
In the Japanese version, and I can't speak to the Dub, there is an Anti-Asian slur said when the police are being turned away from helping the castle guard.
No, however, somebody eats too much too fast, goes green, and is offered a bucket. He does not vomit, and it is not shown or heard because it does not happen.
There are several scenes where guys are wearing just their undergarments (both an undershirt and underpants) and offscreen one loses his trunks and his hand is seen pulling them back. We do not see anything, however.
A woman is being forced to get married, and she gets manhandled a lot by the man who she is being forced to marry. (spoiler maybe?) It is also implied that the two have the same ancestry.
Yes, on two occasions Clarissa is drugged. The first time, to make her sleep. The second time, so she's too out of it to object to her marriage at her wedding. We do not see it happening, but we see the effects.
No, however, there are dead bodies of people who may have been hung? It's not graphic, you just know that they're bodies. We do not see ropes around necks, etc.
There is a "fat suit" in which somebody inflates something under their clothes to be seen as more heavyset for a disguise, however it's not played for laughs and nobody says anything fatphobic.
Guns are used frequently throughout the film. At first, it's a small pistol (Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum), and then there's an anti-tank rifle (I forgot what model). There's also a high-powered machine gun.
