An unpleasant side character (roommate) and a bit part (stern movie theatre neighbour) are meant to be entertaining, but one of the punchlines seems to be that they are overweight & unattractive. Episode 19 an adult calls a kid he doesn’t know the equivalent of “fatty” and bribes him with candy.

Not exactly depicted as a miscarriage- someone receives a positive pregnant test result at home. They tell no one but the following day their partner finds the test and is very excited. However immediately as they discuss it and he’s planning the future she says she got her period that morning, so it was a “false” positive.
