No dogs seen but in minute 9:19 thru 9:26 on Hulu you hear a dog barking very very very faintly in the distance during the night scene. If you have subtitles you'll see it mention "dog barking". Then it says " dog yelping". :( So unsure if meant to be implied that the dog was killed because the creatures were landing. I had my soundbar on very loud but I couldn't hear it but only saw this cuz of the caption states it happening. Maybe with headphones it can be heard but just wanted to note it for those who are triggered by dog deaths not seen but with sound. Again very implied but the CC captions are there.
The main characters mother died before the film begins leaving her in to live in her house all alone. She was presumably a teenager when this happened.
Yes and no, they show multiple close ups of the alien creature inside the throat and underneath the skin. They also show the girl dig into her throat to rip a creature out.
You could say the little houses and miniatures are for both adults and children. They are toy similar. They are thrown around and one is even used as a weapon.
(UPDATED) i’m sorry i’m not 100% on timestamps because i was on disney+. but if you get to the scenes which are below, just skip a minute and you will be fine (also it’s not very realistic, so wasn’t too triggering and i’m someone who gets bad anxiety over a mention, but everyone’s different yk)
- brynn spits after biting the aliens arm, sound is gross and although it isn’t v* it still might startle someome like it did with me. so when she bites his arm skip 30 seconds and you will be fine.
- when she floats and the screen goes red, skip that whole part as no emetophobe will want to see that.
-and when she wake up and speaks to maude skip maybe 1/2 mins cus she shoves her fist down her throat and the g* a lot and the visual may trigger, but no actual v*
-
there are no mentions or anything so if you just watch out for those scenes you’ll be ok. hope this helps :)
At the very end the lead character appears to stare directly at the camera making a sweeping, seemingly inviting gesture. The fourth wall is not verbally broken but the body language strongly appears to be directed at the viewer. Especially in context it could be seen as very creepy.
