In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. Of these reported cases, more than half of the missing people are people of color, too easily neglected by the system. Gabi Mosely, a former missing person herself, now specializes in PR and leads a crisis management team that seeks out these missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, Mosely is hiding a dark secret of her own.
You only see the dog being taken to the vet. Nothing graphic at all, but then the vet calls and say he will be okay.

A girl being held captive mentions the kidnapper rapes the girls but we are unsure if it's true because that captive turns out to be working with the kidnapper.
The main villain is a mentally unstable kidnapper who manipulates victims and turns violent if they try to escape. It is implied he may have killed someone in the past.
The entire premise of the show is about finding kidnapping victims. Nearly everyone on the team was also a victim of being held against their will or had a child abducted from them.

Jamie talks to his mom about how sometimes voices in his head are telling him how he isn’t worth the pain his disappearance has caused and that the only time he felt relief from the voices was when he [goes quiet and proceeds to shows his mom self harm scars on his hip/stomach area.]
