There are scenes where the main character’s claim that she have seen a spirit is not being taken seriously.
Not exactly the case though, she’s still 4.

The catbus could qualify, as it's a living bus with lots of legs, but it's depicted as cute (albeit strange)

Some people may have problems with a several scenes where people crawl through long, low tunnels formed by trees/bushes. I personally have claustrophobic tendencies, but didn't mind, because the tunnels don't have solid walls, and there's lots of light. I got no feeling of being trapped, and the situations are not presented as sinister - all but one of the crawling scenes have a very happy, adventure-ish tone. The one that doesn't is when someone is anxiously searching for someone.

No. However, a young girl has some emotional troubles because her mother is in the hospital. She is shown to have days when school is too overwhelming for her, she refuses to speak to anyone, and her sister has to come pick her up.

The younger sister, Mei, has some age-appropriate tantrums that are mainly just crying. Satsuki does cry upon receiving a letter that her mother isn't coming home as planned and needs to stay in the hospital a bit longer, but she is being comforted by an adult.

Mei is a little older than a baby, but she does cry during the film. Satsuki, the older daughter, cries as well. Most of the crying is from worrying about their mother in the hospital.

There's a scene in which a man and his two young daughters bathe naked in the same tub. I hate to mention it, as I don't want to contribute to the idea that children and their parents being naked in each other's company is wrong, but I choose to mention it anyway, since I imagine that the scene may be a trigger for some in spite of its innocence. To make it absolutely clear: There's NOTHING sexual or in any way negative about the scene; they're all happy and having fun, and the man is a loving father in the best way. It's a sweet scene.

The mother has an illness to the point that she needs to be hospitalized for long streches of time, but they don't specify the illness (I think) nor they say if it's terminal. The kids do understand that it's serious though, and are shown worrying/crying about the possibility of their mother dying. As the other comment says, she does not die during the movie.
