WARNING the rabbit killing scene isn't over when it first cuts away. skip 4 minutes ahead (15:12-18:58 was the timestamp on the version i watched) to avoid it. the only thing you will have missed is an imagine spot of the main character performing an autopsy on a dead (human) body. the footage is later shown in reverse at the end of the movie (1:06:39-1:08:40)

A rabbit is seeming butchered for meat the way it was being cut (blood drained, skinned and gutted), however it isn't some wild rabbit - its a fluffy domesticated one. This is intercut with a man performing an autopsy [00:15:19-00:18:5]
A cat is introduced at around 00:39:30, however at 00:41:38 it is fed preserved but presumably rotting human meat. Then between 00:42:13 - 00:42:52 it is placed in a bag and thrown at the wall and floor and it dies. From then until 00:45:33, its corpse is seen and the main character is seen bathing in its blood and organs.
