A character and one of their parents get into a brief physical altercation at a dinner scene that takes place during a thunderstorm. The altercation begins with threats of using a knife, one character starts yelling, the two characters slap each other while yelling, start pushing each other, and begin wrestling in the dining room.

A character stabs a goose that wanders into the barn with a pitchfork. The kill itself is off-screen but the cries of the goose can be heard, and its body is later shown and fed to an alligator. This first act happens within the first five minutes of the movie. Later, this same character also squishes a fertile alligator egg after mentioning how they hate it when the farm cow, Charlie, stares at them. This act occurs shortly after they are told "Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect" by a parent of theirs.

A goose is killed off-screen with a pitchfork in the opening minutes of the movie after a character feeds the other farm animals. The cries of the goose can be heard and its limp bloody body is shown, still attached to the pitchfork, before being fed to an alligator in a pond. A character also takes a fertile alligator egg from a nest and squishes it with their bare hands.

A character, while in the bathtub, grabs the throat of another character with one hand. The victim, while not visibly distressed, can be heard struggling to breathe. This same character, the previous victim, is also suffocated to death with a pillowcase later—albeit off-screen—loud groans can be heard.

Decapitation, graphic dismemberment, and stabbings. Decaying corpses are seen in visceral detail.

Pearl’s father is a quadriplegic with only minor movement in his eyes. He can’t move or speak, which leaves him vulnerable to the events of the film.

Not in a death way, but Pearl does sacrifice her own happiness and dreams, could be seen as a part of herself, in order to try and live the simple farm life with her husband that's always been expected of her. As shown in the credits, she knows she'll be miserable for the rest of her life.

Technically no, since no characters acknowledge the audience in the film, but the final scene falls into a bit of a gray area. In it, a character walks into a house and is greeted by another character with a comment and a creepy smile. The final shot of the film is that character holding a smile while staring directly into the camera for nearly the full duration of the end credits—to the point that tears well up in their eyes. Their staring could be interpreted as them looking at the audience, as the other character in the room never comments on their staring, nor does the smiling character stop staring to engage with the other character in the room.

There’s a scene where the main character is shown an early 1900s black and white porno film. In the film we see full female nudity — including genitalia — and butts.

Just to clarify, the daughter bathing in front of the father is not presented in an abusive or incestuous way at all

Pearls father has an unspecified illness which makes him unable to walk and speak. He’s taken care of by his daughter and wife troughout the movie. If this triggers you i suggest skipping the movie because he plays a pretty major role.

A character is described as "infirm" and their illness is central to the main character's mindset.

One character lives where he works, and refers to himself as a 'bohemian', but he has no issue with it.

Someone is killed in a car they were trying to drive. It rolls some distance before stopping. Later, we see it being pushed into a lake.
