from the beginning we are led to perceive a mentally ill character as a dangerous stalker, but later the game tries to subvert this. the supposed 'true' culprit is very hard to find, and is even harder to convict, so in most endings the mentally ill suspect gets convicted by default due to police's prejudice. i think the narrative is too vague to change the mind of the players who are already biased against mentally ill people.
