Not explicitly mentioned, but the main character speaks in an unnatural way the whole film and mentions 'understanding people, but not liking people' as a whole. It points to psychopathy, or a violent personality disorder.

Louise Bloom does have a lot of autistic traits and can be perceived as a misrepresentation of autism but I don't think that's what the creators intended. He was just supposed to be a "sociopath" and sadly the era (2010s) tends to mistranslate that sort of thing into autism

not traditionally-- the main character causes violence to happen by manipulating people, and while not named as mentally ill, it is likely this character has something akin to ASPD.

Nothing explicitly sexual occurs on screen, but the main character insinuates he'd like to start trading his footage for a sexual relationship with the news director. Additionally, a scene occurs later where there's definite sexual tension in a conversation, but nothing comes of it.

***MAJOR SPOILERS*** It's a little hard to categorize this film's ending as strictly happy or sad. If you consider a "happy" ending to be based on the *protagonist* being happy with the ending, then it's definitely not a sad ending, as Lou gets pretty much everything he wants without consequence to himself. But he's also not the kind of protagonist you really root for and is pretty definitively a terrible person and terrible things happen because of him so from that perspective it is a sad ending.

**SPOILERS***Apart from a major chase sequence at the film's end where several cars violently crash, a big chunk of the film's overall plot involves the main character going around to the sites of car crashes and getting footage of the wreckage. The images of the wrecks are quite graphic and dead bodies are seen several times.
