There are deceased cats that the characters look for through the second half onwards of the movie for the alien's spaceship, they're not visually shown much other than the first who looks like it was run over

However there is the last one who is alive and one of the old lady's pet they need to get and they all prepare for it to die a graphic way, as they heard the alien could make something's head explode, but it turns out to just be peacefully put to sleep and has no pain shown
