Pitch Perfect
Movie • 2012 • Comedy
ReportCollege student Beca knows she does not want to be part of a clique, but that's exactly where she finds herself after arriving at her new school. Thrust in among mean gals, nice gals and just plain weird gals, Beca finds that the only thing they have in common is how well they sing together. She takes the women of the group out of their comfort zone of traditional arrangements and into a world of amazing harmonic combinations in a fight to the top of college music competitions.

It’s unclear if the characters are underage.
They are freshman in college meaning they are likely under 21.

One character does magic, and a few tricks involve animals. They joke about the animals being stuck in their sleeve for several days.

At the start of the movie, Beca gets a whistle and the lady called it the "Rape whistle" And to 'Not blow it unless its actually happening'. This may be triggering, but its quick and just a quick dab at dark humor.

No rape, but at the beginning of the movie (about 5-6 min in), the main character is cheerfully given an "official rape whistle". It's a quick scene, but makes light of rape on college campuses and rape in general. This might really disturb someone who's experienced this type of trauma.

The other comment is referencing Friends. I’m not sure what that’s doing here… but no, there’s no mutilation of any kind. It’s a movie about a capella groups.

No, but a queer character is.
It’s worth mentioning as she’s a black butch lesbian who, on multiple occasions, sexually assaults the a capella girls (eg. groping them and attempting mouth to mouth on someone who doesn’t even need it) but the movie plays it off a joke?
In one particular scene, a brawl breaks out between the group.
Amidst it all, the lesbian character grabs a girl’s boobs. The girl is understandably upset and they tousle which leads the girl to blow her rape whistle - awful, right?!
And yet, it’s used as a… funny background bit? Disgusting.
I watched it for a bit of nostalgia and came out of it pissed off. Definitely do NOT recommend - for many reasons.
