Honestly huge TW for people with worms: When the dad (Eric) is in the kitchen and about to get an alcoholic drink, he starts to retch. LOOK AWAY IF YOU'RE TRIGGERED OR SQUICKED, worms will shoot out of his nose + some sort of icky black stuff. Do not start rewatching if you hate worms or bugs until the dramatic music stops.

Around 46-48 minutes in in the theatrical version. A man standing in the kitchen in front of a sink holds a cup right before it happens.
It wasn't actual vomit, it was soil/mud and worms that were "vomited". Definitely still vomit effects/noises though.

When the daughter initially goes missing the mom wants to call the police, insisting they can tell the truth and be okay. The dad straight up says the police will blame them and nothing will get solved by getting the police involved, showing that they understand the reality that the police won't understand and will take the easy route out by saying the parents did something to her instead of actually helping.
