The Raccoons of the Tama Hills are being forced from their homes by the rapid development of houses and shopping malls. As it becomes harder to find food and shelter, they decide to band together and fight back. Hmm... A tanuki is trapped in a small cage by humans, who, when they return to check the trap, will most likely either kill the tanuki on the spot or - less likely - take it somewhere.
Addition to Ambre's comment: The head is reminiscent of a head or mask out of Japanese theatre/mythology, with exaggerated and distorted features; it doesn't look like a normal human face that could exist. It's not exactly squashed, but split in half by a truck.
It's mentioned that tanukis (like every other living being) die, including those who have children. The sentence goes something like "They had cubs, ate, drank [...] and eventually died, much too quickly." I'm almost completely sure that no specific character whom we know to be a parent dies in the movie.
Male tanukis can transform into female humans, and female tanukis can transform into male humans, for fun, as transformation practice and because it could be useful. So people who met the tanukis in that form would take them to be of another sex than they actually are. But I wouldn't call that "misgendering" in the problematic sense.
Because of japanese mythology of tanukis shape shifting and transforming their testicles, animal testicles are shown very often. This is never done in a sexual manner.
A little blood. I remember one dead tanuki with a small pool of blood by its head, and there may be blood in other scenes. But nothing even comes close to gore.
Not really violence, as far as I remember. A gun is fired wildly into the air out of fear; I'm 95% sure no one is hit (it's hard to tell). Someone forces a group of characters into submission by pointing with a gun.
