If you are more worried about seeing live animals physically or emotionally mistreated as a part of the storyline, watch out for the scene where three live chickens are beheaded. One of these has its head slowly ripped off by a human. Otherwise, all the animals which show up are treated fine, or they were already dead before being dismembered on screen.

There are real dead animals in this movie, some of which are killed on screen - notably, three live chickens are killed during the scene at the Zulu village. Two have their heads chopped off with a knife, the third has its head torn off by a human in the course of about 3 seconds. Very graphic.

All of the dead animals in this move are real, not trained animals pretending. There are dead frogs (which a restaurant cook dismembers in a professional looking, but still graphic, manner), several slaughtered pigs, three live chickens which are killed on screen, and a roadkill mouse that gets run over by a car. There is also a lot of cut up animal meat in the restaurant cooler.

Several instances of vomiting, it's one of the symptoms of viral infection right before someone dies in the movie. It looks pretty gross.
