The main character is shown getting shot in the shoulder and then the head, but it's surprisingly not that graphic. You just see blood seeping through his shirt and a small hole appear on his forehead. He then bleeds a little from his nose/mouth before he falls unconscious.

The father is very stern, critical, and emotionally distant towards his young daughter prior to him being shot. It doesn't really qualify as abuse or neglect, but still might trigger some people.

If the r word is "retarded" then yes it is said by a cab driver who nearly runs over a disoriented Henry when he was walking across the street, he shouts "what are you retarded or something?!" And although not directly said it is implied when a group of co-workers call Henry a "child-like imbecile" at a party and he overhears them.

The main character gets shot and there are several scenes early in the movie where he's in the hospital.
Then he goes to inpatient physical rehab, which is also a hospital-like setting with doctors and therapists. There are extended scenes at this location.

The physical therapist sexually objectifies every woman he sees, mainly his female co-workers, and constantly talks about having had sex with them or wanting to. He never says "sex". He says some variation of "I gotta get me some of that" or "Already had me some of that". In the movie, this behavior is supposed to be endearing and he even teaches the main character, his patient, to mimic that kind of speech.

The main character gets shot twice by a robber in a convenience store. Once in the shoulder and once in the head. Not as graphic as it sounds.

Very little blood and only after the gunshot wounds. Blood is seen seeping through the character's shirt. A tiny hole is seen from the gunshot to the head. He then bleeds from the wound, nose and mouth. It's never excessive.
