Rachel is a divorced single mother whose bad day gets even worse. She's running late to drop her son off at school when she honks her horn impatiently at a fellow driver during rush-hour traffic. After an exchange of words, she soon realizes that the mysterious man is following her and her young son in his truck. A case of road rage quickly escalates, at horrifyingly psychotic proportions, into full-blown terror as Rachel discovers the psychopath's sinister plan for revenge. He is single-mindedly determined to teach her a deadly lesson.
This movie contains 19 potentially triggering events.
Not recreational (aside from the offer of weed when the main character's brother is pleading for his life), but the antagonist abuses hydrocodone (an opioid painkiller)
Towards the end of the film the son Kyle climbs into a hidden room behind a wardrobe to hide. Not much bigger than a small crawlspace there's a few spider webs (as you would expect); enough to give me a chill imagining myself forced into close proximity like that, but no actual spiders are seen!
It was slightly hard to tell but at one point near the beginning of the movie one character off screen was making noises that sounded as though he was sexually assaulting someone
SPOILER -- the antagonist is stabbed in the eye with a pair of scissors, and after a few moments he moves to sit up and continue his rampage so the MC kicks the scissors deeper finally killing him
Correction: Rachel gets sick around 59:40 right after the police show up at her house and shoot the guy she runs out of her car and v*. Also use caution around 48 minutes, she says she’s going to be sick but I muted the tv to be on the safe side so idk if anything happens.
No one experiences it in the film, though if you are easily triggered you may want to avoid the scene where the boy crawls into the hidden room to hide
The main character's mother is in a nursing home. It is mentioned that she was getting lost in her own neighborhood, but this is not a main part of the plot
Unsurprisingly - it is a film about road rage. There is a graphic scene when the good samaritan at the petrol station (or 'gas' station depending on where you're from!) stands in front of Tom's truck to prevent him from following after the MC, only to end up on the bonnet and flung off onto the road as Tom follows the MC anyway. Just as he is picking himself up he is mowed down by an oncoming car
Not much as guns are only used by the police, notably in the scene when an officer shoots at Tom as he flees the house where he just set the brother on fire, hitting him at least once
