Not on screen and not the main dog. A dog gets “sick” it’s kinda unclear if he was ever actually sick or if his owner was just paranoid, but he goes to the vet and then comes back just fine.. however in the end of the movie a character recalls something from his childhood involving someone killing a litter of puppies.
In there end a character recalls a memory from his childhood of someone killing puppies, but it’s nothing shown on screen. The only other thing that might be in the same realm is a dog lives in a motel with his owners who cook meth, and it’s noted multiple times that it’s hard to breathe when he’s cooking, which may have been the cause of the dog getting sick but it’s clear his owner loves him; and he ends up just fine.
Definitely avoid if sensitive. A woman is consensually tied up during sex by the main character, but then he never unties her and she's imprisoned in his apartment for days. Also a scene where he's kissing her chest while she's tied up and visibly upset, and it's all played for laughs.
Lowkey, it’s not like a really malicious thing, just careless but definitely cruel. One of the main characters is hooking up w someone then gets a call and needs to go so he like ties her up and tapes her eyes/mouth so she doesn’t leave him then gets busy and takes hours to return
