Movie • 1986 • Adventure
ReportSynopsis
Fugitives of the Federation for their daring rescue of Spock from the doomed Genesis Planet, Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) and his crew begin their journey home to face justice for their actions. But as they near Earth, they find it at the mercy of a mysterious alien presence whose signals are slowly destroying the planet. In a desperate attempt to answer the call of the probe, Kirk and his crew race back to the late twentieth century. However they soon find the world they once knew to be more alien than anything they've encountered in the far reaches of the galaxy!

The lead woman character slaps her male colleague that has been condescending to her and lied about the safety of the whales, who are her life's work.

The core of the film is that the spaceship crew will not leave without the main whale characters. The whales at one point are released into a dangerous area of the ocean, but are rescued by the spaceship.

The spaceship crew go unconscious when time traveling in two separate scenes, which is depicted as if they fell asleep in their chairs. Chekov falls off of a structure and fractures his skull which causes prolonged unconsciousness in another scene, with no injuries depicted.

Autism is not mentioned or implied. Notably many autistic people in real life relate to Spock's character. Though he's treated as odd a few times, nobody disrespects him for being different. In fact the main crew are all relieved he is with them and openly affectionate at times.

There's quite a bit of mild cursing, but it's meant to be funny in its context. Words like "damn", "hell", "dipshit", "dumbass", "double dumbass". Nothing too bad. Also, a punk guy on a bus gives the middle finger.
