The cat is NOT thrown down stairs. The cat either jumps from, or is dropped from, an attic opening in a large, walk-in closet. The cat hits the ground running, in front of Jennifer Lopez’s character, as a stereotypical jump scare, before a second jump scare. No one is shown throwing the cat, and the cat is fine after he runs away from her. No abused cats in this movie.
