Strong animal death/animal cruelty warning. The film depicts the real-life animal deaths that Buñuel filmed (and often helped orchestrate) for his documentary about Las Hurdes. See under "does an animal die" for further details.

Strong animal death/animal cruelty warning. The film depicts the real-life animal deaths that Buñuel filmed (and often helped orchestrate) for his documentary about Las Hurdes. The movie switches from animation to the original black-and-white live film when we see what the camera sees, meaning that there are shots of actual animal cruelty. Specifically, some roosters' heads are ripped off; two goats are shot and then fall down a cliff; a donkey is swarmed by bees, then shot.

A very sick young girl is lying in the street; they're unable to help her, and we later find out she died. A dead baby is also shown. As with the animal death scenes, some of this is real-life footage, not just animation.

We see Buñuel in the shower briefly (no lower than his upper back).

Twice, people seem as though they are going to vomit, but nobody actually does vomit. We hear gagging and coughing sounds.

Nobody is misgendered, but for anyone with triggers around transphobia, there's one theme to be aware of: Buñuel cross-dresses in a nun's habit, intending to shock and provoke people; many people who see him are disgusted and offended (for religious reasons, with slight overtones of transphobia).
