The second installment in the 28 Days Later sequel trilogy. Dr. Kelson finds himself in a shocking new relationship - with consequences that could change the world as they know it - and Spike's encounter with Jimmy Crystal becomes a nightmare he can't escape.
A barn is burned down next to a cottage/land that has some farm animals. We don’t see any animals come to any harm, but they are left behind by all the occupants
Just two: One where a zombie comes sprinting from the forest. One where, towards the end of the film, a character is upside down and a zombie jump scares the screen from a POV shot
I don’t have exact timestamps as I saw the movie in theaters. There are several v* scenes that are graphic, personally I didn’t find the blood ones triggering, but the others were. Here is my best recollection:
SPOILERS AHEAD: When a group of three non-infected are first introduced (2 men and 1 woman), one of the men is infected after a chase sequence and v* blood right after.
During the torture scene in the barn, right after they start cutting into the stomach of one of the men dangling, I would close my eyes as it cuts to Spike running out of the barn and v* several times. Audio and visual.
Once back back in the barn, you see the dangling people are very bloody and dying, and specifically a close up of guts in the floor. Close your eyes, I couldn’t tell if it was Spike or a Jimmy, but someone v* with audio and visual.
During a fight sequence with Samson on the train car, one of the infected spits/v* blood in his face.
The other comment is correct that after Dr. Kelson blows powder into the Jimmy’s faces, one of them v*. I was able to close my eyes but I believe it was just visual and very minimal or no audio.
!!SPOILERS AHEAD!! . . . during a scene with the doctor and samson, he takes out a needle and puts it briefly into samson's arm. no exact time stamp however in a shot beforehand the doctor takes out a small box and talks about putting samson out of his misery.
No flashing images or rapid editing/camerawork (unlike the previous film). But there are several moments with intense flickering light which may have a similar effect for those with photosensitivity:
In an early scene there’s brief flickering when Kelson enters his underground bunker/hut and ignites a lighter. Night-time scene at the bone temple with Kelson and Samson, flickering light throughout (intercut with shots of the moon).
Long scene with lots of fire when the barn burns down, some cutaways from the barn but the flames are mostly visible. Another campfire scene following end of Kelson and Jimmy’s initial meeting.
A ring of flames surrounds the characters gathered at the Bone Temple in the final act, followed by a pyrotechnics-like display (as seen in trailers). The ring of flames remains visible throughout the remainder of the scenes here.
Jimmy Crystal has a dissociative disorder (hearing voices) and acts excessively violent. Satanism is an uncommon religion and is misrepresented as violent and involving human sacrifices.
There was a rather sudden and unnecessary scene where someone (a heroic character) justifies the Allies’ “niceness” strategy towards Germany after WWII, which remains controversial (especially given how many Nazis got away scot free, and descendants of prominent Nazis becoming far-right politicians in modern Germany). It upset me, at least.
The Fingers believe in an inaccurate version of Satanism with the stereotypical human sacrifices. It’s never said to be inaccurate in-film. Someone references Jesus in a sacrilegious manner to convince the Fingers that he’s Satan. There is an upside down crucifixion and the quotation of Jesus’ last words.
