The ending is actually really sweet, [SPOILER] the trapped ghosts defeat the evil ghost, freeing themselves, and Mr. Gordy helps Heidi ride her bike, waving goodbye before disappearing. (Also it never says in the movie that Mr. Gordy is mean -- I think the person who said that it does is mistaking Mr. Gordy for his grandfather, who WAS mean.)
