There's a big battle with characters riding on horses, elks, hogs and all kind of animals. Some of their deaths are shown.

Smaug the dragon is shot in the chest with a lance-like arrow. He takes to the air one last time before the light fades from his eyes and he falls.

There are some gigantic earthworm like creatures, but they are shown just briefly and don't harm anyone.

A character is accused of betraying their friend when they've done nothing wrong. They then try to kill that character.

A character acts suspicious of his friends, and on one occasion it is implied that he lurks around a wall to watch another character. It's not technically stalking, but it is kinda suspenseful.

Thorin is arguably addicted to power and gold. (Not in a 'cartoon villany' way but it actually has severe effects that are shown.)

A dragon burns down a whole town. There are a lot of survivors, though.

The regular edition is fairly violent, considering the entire movie is based around a war and lots of injury and death is shown. I would say it only gets EXCESSIVE in the extended edition, which is rated R for violence. I wouldn't describe it as horrifically gory, but there are a lot more bloody deaths and violent moments.

Thorin is “possessed” by gold sickness, and I would count it as such.

Thorin has something akin to an anxiety attack when he realises how far he’s sunk into madness.

Technically yes. While both young for their respective races and appearing as grown adults, Fili is in his 70s, and Tauriel is in her early 1000s.
