It's been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.
This movie contains 7 potentially triggering events.
At the very start the after one of the Lego duplos swallows a heart and wildstyle hits them with a hammer they scream really loud and high pitched it shatters a building's windows.
Ambiguous. We see both the LEGO characters in the LEGO world and the children who are playing with them in the real world. LEGO characters occasionally catch glimpses of the real world, which is probably a similar feeling to breaking the fourth wall, but they never show any awareness they are in a movie.
There is a giant talking ice cream cone with throwaway jokes about being eaten but it is not actually consumed (Batman: I just wanna eat carbs pass the ice cream Ice Cream: I’m not a thing you can just use to fill emotional voids with)
The main characters presumably were brainwashed at the beginning of the film when first brought into space. However, they weren’t actually being brainwashed. Emmet is being brainwashed without realizing it by (spoiler character), making him do something really bad. The bad thing he does is reverted however.
[spoilers] There's a scene where the main antagonist tries to keep Emmet in a place where it's hard to move and then starts attacking him physically. While it's hard to say if that qualifies as torture, it might be seen as upsetting to some people.
It's not confirmed outright but there's a gag where two characters are ecstatic over surviving an explosion, only to fall off of a cliff; it felt like their death was implied to me.
For a while one character thinks the others have been brainwashed, but it turns out not to be true. (Everyone was acting like the were having fun because they were...having fun.)
In theory all of the characters from the previous movie have had their homes destroyed, but they seem to be living quite happily (with some grim brooding) in Apocalypseburg by the time this movie starts.
There is a very big explosion at the end (an apocalyptic explosion, even) but it's not caused by a nuclear weapon and since LEGO bricks are meant to be broken apart, it's not very scary or violent.
There are lots of laser-gun-type weapons and other projectiles, but they fire them by literally saying "pew pew pew", so it's not very realistic or scary.
