In the 1968 (movie) and 1970-1975 (TV) versions Felix's suicide attempt is shown directly and indirectly in various ways at varying levels of seriousness. However, he survives.

As an inciting element of both plots referenced multiple times, it would be virtually impossible to avoid.
-----------
1968 version: Felix tries to jump out the window on screen, rather ineffectively. It is played for dark comedy for the viewer, but the characters take it very seriously.

1970 version: Felix's attempt is never shown directly on screen, but is similar to the above and is referenced relatively often. Season 2 Episode 18 Where's Grandpa" features Felix's grandfather attempting suicide in a similar way and is played considerably less seriously. Somewhat disturbing. He also survives unharmed.
