A minor character develops an alcohol addiction for a few episodes. It's not focused on very often in those episodes either.

Sort of. One character is stated to have some kind of drug used on them, although it's not recreationally and it's not focused on for more than a few seconds at a time. It doesn't seem to be an addiction.

Dragons dying happens almost every episode, sometimes in great numbers. While they are more than capable of defending themselves, you're going to see a lot of dragon death in this anime. There are many instances of people dying because of a dragon, too, although not as often.

Happens frequently. Depictions range from upsetting and traumatic to crude anime fanservice/humor - but there is a great deal of both extremes.

It's not eye mutilation per se, but there are some graphic scenes concerning a glass eye that will likely be upsetting.

Several later episodes showcase people being possessed. Typically background characters are victimized by this, but a main protagonist and a minor character both get possessed, too.

The hate speech is directed at/about a fictitious group of people, but it's very much racist, frequent, and even institutionalized.

Many LGBT characters die during the course of this anime, although them being LGBT has nothing to do with WHY they die.
