Not dead but dying kangaroo, and it's pretty awful to see. To skip the kangaroo scene, jump from 7:05 when Mia gets out of the car to 8:20 when it cuts to a different scene inside a house. Mia also briefly talks about it around 9:05.
In one scene, one of the boys is clearly aroused and moaning, moving as if he were having sex with an invisible person, while the teenagers around him are laughing at him. The scene ends distastefully with him kissing a bulldog in the context of oral sex.
A head doesn't get squashed but a younger boy smashes his face repeatedly into a table, and then later in the movie he deliberately smashes his head off a tile floor. Both scenes very difficult to watch as it's in full detail and you see it all.
