Approximately 30 mins in to the film, a cow is killed with a spear. The death is shown at some length and we see the cow collapse on the ground with blood running from its nose (however, the scene was filmed without harming an actual cow). At the start of the film, an antelope is shot at, but is not harmed.

The scene in which the cow is killed with a spear was achieved by sedating a real cow under veterinary supervision, without the cow coming to any harm. The spear and blood were inserted in post-production using CGI. The film’s credits state that no animal was harmed in the making of the film.
